I come to the wilderness to strip off the stifling clothes of civilization, of concept, of language, and retune my heart to the frequency of the undefined primal. With every foray into wilderness--the precious little bit thats left of it--I resonate more and more with the comparison native Americans, naturalists, poets, mystics, and wanderers have made of these spaces to natural temples. By photographing the spontaneous and unselfconscious beauty of nature, I hope to hold a mirror to human beings, so that we may see our own face and destiny revealed in her reflection.
